Learnthesword online programs offer an excellent way to practice and study for those who want to take their training onto the next level. Are you considering becoming a certified instructor or attaining advancement in rank then Learnthesword is an easy prerequisite for the above.
After you have completed a 1 to 5 day intensive course and become certified or have attained a higher rank you can continue to develop your skills using these Learnthesword programs as your reference. After certification you should have the working knowledge needed to instruct.
Note: When an intensive certification program is hard to arrange due to time and area constraints Learnthesword offers a special online certified instructor program, which requires 30 to 90 days to complete.
Instructor Training Options:
- Traditional
- Tachi-Iai (Long Sword)
- Kodachi-Iai (Short Sword)
- Combative
- Chanbara (synthetics)
- Kendo (bamboo)
Traditional and Combative courses are usually a one to five-day, intensive process the average being two days. After the first day, one should be able to grasp the basic dynamics of traditional and combative sword techniques and mind-sets. Once your muscle memory sets in, it will be easier to practice and teach with strong presence.
By the end of day two you should be able to show improvement along with confidence while learning additional sword protocols and nuances. When you have accomplished these requirements you are ready to be certified.
Instructors can choose to study only the traditional aspect, only the combative aspect or they can decide to learn both traditional and combative.
Shihan Abbott’s Traditional Happogiri or his Combative Chanbara Instructor’s online certification package includes all the materials you need including Instructor’s Training guide, video and media.
